High water pressure!

Updated: Mar 22, 2023

High water pressure!

For a good water distribution system, usually the pressure in the city water distribution lines is much higher than what our home plumbing system can handle, and to reduce the pressure there is a pressure reducer valve or PRV installed where the main water line enters the building in most homes.

Like any other mechanical valve, PRV's have a relatively limited lifespan it is usually between 7-12 years.

Last week we responded to a call for multiple leaks in a house and found out that water pressure was at 150 PSI due to a failed Pressure reducer valve and causing multiple water leaks inside the house as well as setting off the water heater's temperature and pressure relief valve.

We replaced the PRV right away as well as fixing multiple issues associated with the extremely high water pressure inside the house.

Please let us know if you think your water pressure is higher than normal and you hear the pipe making noise inside the wall when you use water, we will be happy to come our and measure the pressure for you at no cost.
